An amazing and exquisitely captured ice dancing couple.

Olympic silver and bronze medalists Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue gave a moving performance routine at the 50th anniversary of “An Evening with Champions.” To the stirring song “Once I Was Loved” by Melody Gardot, they dance.

An Evening with Champions is a public, non-profit event for a good cause that raises money for “The Jimmy Fund,” the funding arm of the “Dana-Farber Cancer Institute,” to stop the spread of cancer.

An Evening with Champions, a yearly exhibition of the best figure skaters, was first held at Harvard in 1970. Olympic athletes and well-known competitors including Yuna Kim, Michelle Kwan, Nathan Chen, and Evan Lysacek took part.

While Madison is tastefully attired in a short floral sundress, Zachary is simply clad in a white shirt and black pants. Their magnificent performance is masterfully orchestrated to capture the mood of the song.

As he skates across the ice, Zachary lifts her above his head and bends her. As they skate and dance flawlessly, the crowd claps in admiration. The remaining ice emits a rich purple hue.

While Madison moves away and crosses his back, Zachary continues to skate. They have smooth progressions that are perfectly suited to the song. Madison wraps Zachary’s neck with both of her arms, hanging loosely from his frame.

While she is still dangling there, Zachary pulls her as high as he can. They bow and hug as their final stance. Two amazing dancers performed flawlessly. The stunned audience applauds the duo loudly for their talent as well as their noble cause.
