“Hype girl,” you say? Assume you’re Sophia Grace Brownlee, the small British girl who, with her cousin Rosie, rapped, ranted, and shouted her way through Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” to the pleasure of 23 million YouTube viewers. In that situation, you must demonstrate that you have excellent vocal skills to back it up.
The ladies returned to “The Ellen Show” on Tuesday and talked about meeting Nicki Minaj. “I couldn’t sleep that night, so we went out to celebrate in the restaurant, and my father drank champagne!” one of the girls explained, and they became instant celebrities.
The situation would be amusing and painfully endearing if the audacious Sophia didn’t have some major talent — particularly when the camera moves to Rosie, who is five years old and has spaced-out expressions — but she does.
Another of Sophia Grace and Rosie 2’s chart-topping songs was Rolling in the Deep, which they did together.
