A newborn hippo begged for rescue as a flock of birds attempted to ride on its back.

When this shooter snapped these gorgeous photos of a baby hippopotamus while going through a Zambian National Park, it was startled by a swarm of birds falling on its back. When woodpeckers visited one of the children, the photographer trained his camera on a group of hippos.

He claimed that the boy was running in terror with his pursuers on his back, while the photographer was focusing on a group of hippos.

He began taking images as the hippo began to cry, run to its mother, and wiggle from side to side, attempting to fend off its predators.

«At first, I really can not believe my eyes when I saw a hippo sprinting at me and rising from the water. “Then I discovered it was a little swarm of thrushes,” the shooter recalls. It was entertaining to see.

Woodpeckers consume the ticks and other parasites that hippopotamuses carry in a typical symbiosis. The hippopotamus receives free treatment, and the bird receives free food. However, the newborn hippopotamus in this case does not appear to have completely received the benefits of its partnership.

“I couldn’t believe what I was able to capture in the image,” the photographer says. I enjoy the look on this little guy’s face as he tries to fight off what he thinks are awful parasites.
